Tips to make a fitted crib sheet
Buy a yard of fabric of bright color and beautiful design. You can use jersey or cotton knit too. Place the mattress on top of the sheet and then cut it about 9 inches longer than the mattress, for the depth of mattress. Then cut a 4inch square on all four corners. Sew the corners into pockets. Make a  inch hem around the sheet. Take a four pieces of narrow elastic approximately 17 inches long and zig zag one on each of the corner pockets. It is advisable to first try out in an old sheet.
