Bench - a bench by anyother name is just a bench
The problem
faced by many households is that there is too much of litter and
clutter in the house and space is never ergonomically used. Clutter
and too much furniture is generally replaced by intelligently
designed furniture that not only has many purposes but utilizes
space in a manner that would enhance the free space around.
Storage furniture
stores items ranging from crockery to blankets, etc. Storage bench
on the other hand provides space to sit upon as well as storage
capacity.
Storage bench is a unique concept that provides for a bench type
top to a storage chest. Thus the furniture acts like a chest and
at the same time a seating piece. Whether you choose a wooden
bench or an upholstered one, a storage bench provides a perfect
place to put bedding, pillows, and extra linens. It's a great
place to sit to put on shoes and socks and also a handy place
to put your bedspread at night. The use of storage bench can be
varied.
In the bedroom
it can be used to attach to your bed. The chest part can be used
to store linen and pillows. In the living room it is essential
as a place to sit while also ensuring that any things scattered
around can be quickly removed from the sight to under the posterior!
In the kitchen it is extremely important as it can house the non
essential crockery which is used rarely, or for storing food supplies
such as grain. In the dining room the storage bench is sometimes
used to make a sitting arrangement around the table while providing
for storage space. It can also be used in the tool shed or in
the patio or garden.
Storage benches
can be also differentiated on the storage capability. Some are
meant for tools and general carpentry. Others are meant to store
toys for children and hence are coated with soft material on the
inside. Also if the storage bench is used in the bedroom or in
the living room, it is generally layered on the top with either
cushions or back rests. One can also use small end table for storage
or as a convenient ice chest (with the liner) for cookouts and
pool parties.
Storage benches
must be strong and made of firm material. Wood is generally the
preferred material. If it is for outdoor purposes it must withstand
the weather. Also it must be able to hold the weight of the person
sitting as well as the items stored within.
