Steel Decking Nails
Stainless
Steel Decking Nails are the longest lasting sturdiest fasteners
for your deck. If you do the proper maintenance for the wood for
your deck, it will last a very long time. Make sure that your
fasteners are up to the task.
The
advances in stainless steel over the years is amazing. The stainless
steel decking nails are use almost exclusively in marine applications.
The marine environment is one of the harshest environments in
the world. If the people in that environment use the stainless
steel decking nails, it is good enough for me.
I
have always been taught and live by this adage, "If it is
not overbuilt, it is not built right!" I feel that the use
of stainless steel decking nails add the best that I need out
of a fastener for my deck.
They
expand and contract less with the changing of the weather. This
means that there is less "movement" and creep so there
will be less of a gap that forms around the nail over time. There
will be less loose boards and gaps that you have to maintain.
Rust!
If there is moisture on metal, there is a chance of Rust. Stainless
steel decking nails have been manufactured to reduce the advancement
of rust - actually almost negating the intrusion of rust.
What
I am trying to say is that research the products that you are
going to use and make sure that you use the best that your budget
will allow. It will allow you keep your deck nicer and to enjoy
your deck much longer. Isn't that what we want out of our home
improvement projects.
