Block Fire insulation
Insulation that provides protection to the houses and it has greater
ability towards the blockage of the fire. This insulation has come up
with a new shield that provides a 1-inch thick insulation on one side
of steel bulkheads and on both sides of the non-steel bulkheads and this
is extended to 12-inches beyond the area that is intended to be protected
by the insulation. If this is installed in steel surfaces then steel
studs are to be replaced by bimetallic studs.
Aluminum structure
With the addition of strong aluminum structure, this fire insulation
is to be provided on both sides of all-primary structural boundaries
with the inclusion of internal surfaces aluminum deckhouse sides and
ends. This has both sides of internal aluminum structural transverse
and longitudinal bulkheads. The function of these bulkheads is to act
as stanchions under web frames. The stiffener and both sides of bulkhead
plating with each side of the stiffener is to be insulated vertically.
Now in addition to this the longitudinal bulk head, which is to be insulated
horizontally for a distance of 12-inches down from the overhead. These
stanchions are to be insulated and it is to be applied to flat plate
surfaces and covers beams, stiffeners, webs and girders. The insulation
on the vertical surfaces are to be applied 6-inches above the deck and
is to be extended to the overhead, except insulation installed on boundaries
of magazines are to be applied from deck to overhead.
Fire block test
The fire block test was undertaken to compare the fire stalking abilities
of dry applied and moist spray applied cellulose insulation and spruce-pine-fir
wood blocking. The fire blocking materials required for this evaluation
included two layers of lumber, dry and moist spray applied cellulose
insulation. The recorded temperatures for the wall section using cellulose
insulation like a fire blocking material remains below. The entire test,
the temperatures recorded for he wall section using the wire lumber fire
blocking materials.
Fire resistant structural are classified on the basis of the fire resistance
1. Load bearing
2. Integrity
3. Insulation
Due to the spread of fire and smoke this has to be restricted in the
building areas. The building must be able to escape or to be rescued
in the event of fire. Mainly the fire safety is to be met in accordance
to the fire ratings and its values.
