Paint
Color, Color,
Color. People have such varied opinions on this subject. It
is staggering. The paint is the first thing that people notice
when they enter the room. As much as you do not like to admit
it, colors set moods. When we purchased our new home the person
before us had brought in professionals for help with color
and painting. My wife's first statement, No!,
No!, No! That color has got to go! If you are planning to sell or just be
in a home for a few years, save yourself the trouble and possibility
of negative connotations. Stay Neutral!
I will harp
about this in so many different areas, just bare with me.
The details are what makes a good job, a great job. Taking
a little extra time to mask or put that third coat (if necessary)
will add such a difference in how it looks and how proud you
are of the job you did. I will admit it to you. The first
thing that I look at in someone's home are the painting transitions
or edges. If they are messy or paint is everywhere, it makes
me think that if someone thought that little about the areas
that people see, what do they do in the areas that people
do not. And yes, when I get sloppy it is the only thing on
the project I see when I stand back and look at it.
Texture
is easier than you think!
The right texture choice gives a dimension that is incredible.
Color
combinations are an extension of your personality.
Choosing the right color combination for a room is an extension
of your personality.
Do
I need a third coat?
I know you are tired, but a third coat may make that paint dance.
