Based deck oil-Stain

acrylic/latex. Traditional oil based coats are still popular and widely used. Oil-based coatings offer excellent penetration, absorption and adhesion properties for wood. Lower quality formulations can be less resistant to mold and mildew and they lack durability too. Alkyd oil coatings are an improvement in oil-based coating with the addition of synthetic resins. These coatings are highly permeable and durable.
Acrylic/latex products are water-based coats that over a time wash away with soap and water. They have fewer odors and dry quickly. Drying too quickly lead to problems in adhesion to woods surface. Water-based coatings are also not very highly water repellent. If water penetrates wood it can cause permanent damage.
Benefits of Oil based Stain:
1. Linseed and Tung oil formula has excellent penetration properties.
2. Mildew resistant coating
3. Excellent UV reflecting properties, great for high altitude application
4. Water Repellant
5. Allows wood to breathe.
6. Brings back the natural luster of wood.
Preparation and Application of Stain
If any areas of the deck have started to splinter or crack scrub thoroughly with sand paper to remove any dead wood fibers and till new layer of wood is visible.
1. Clean surface thoroughly with soap and water or with high-pressure washer or sprayer.
2. Allow the surface to dry completely before coating with oil based stain. Wait at least for 24hrs before coating. If stained while the deck is still wet, the oil won't penetrate the wood. The stain will just penetrate the surface, instead of seeping in.
3. Immerse a brush (use a 4-inch brush) or long-handled roller into the stain. Absorb only enough stain for a few strokes. If possible, use a roller to first apply the stain, and then apply into the wood with brush. Use a paintbrush for difficult-to-reach places.
4. Wipe excess stain with duster.
5. Avoid staining at midday or in direct sunlight. Do not stain deck in extreme weather condition such as hot, cold or if windy.
6. If a second coat required wait for 4 hrs between applications.
7. Wait for 24hrs before using Deck.

Warning
Oil-based stains can be irritating to eyes, skin, nose, and throat. Can cause headaches, dizziness, nausea, fatigue. Ingestion may cause vomiting.
