Trends come
and go and so do the appliances that we use in our homes. Tastes
and themes change with the passage of time. Every body wants to
catch up with these changing trends and themes and the present
trends influence the decorating decisions of an individual. As
far as the kinds of decorating trends are concerned, the most
generally seen ones include:
1. The country
or the rustic look
2. The casual or the contemporary look
3. The Traditional and classic look.
Generally,
the contemporary style finds maximum followers as compared to
the traditional and the rustic ones. However, there are some people
who advocate the rustic style for they feel that it brings them
close to nature. These themes are considered to be the foundation
upon which other themes are prepared. For example, the Country
French or Mission-style home decoration is based on the country
style of decoration. The style or theme in trend also depends
upon the region one is in. In some regions, one style dominates,
while in another region, some other style or trend may have more
followers.
Factors that
influence decoration styles:
The style
for decoration as preferred by a person can be attributed to the
persons taste, age and colors schemes. The pictures that are seen
in magazines and newspapers generally influence casual home theme.
The combinations may be chosen from black plastic, chrome and
glass combinations. These days, the furniture that is less complicated,
easy to clean and durable, is what is in trend. Minimal designs
coupled with occasional geometric patterns. The colors that are
in vogue in today's times are beige, white and gray with light
wood furniture. As far as the accessories are concerned, the ones
made from natural maple are sure to match such furniture.
The trends:
The country
style is never static and is always changing. Patterns like plaids,
fruity and birdy ones are no more in style these days. Anything
that is cool and trendy and contemporary is what is liked by people
of the age. Color combinations involving like the soft pastel
colors and earthy tones are I trend these days. They are comfortable,
warm and cozy.
The traditional
designs include innovative ideas like placing a small candle in
an existing soap tumbler holder. This gives a soft glow and adds
the dramatic and romantic touch to your home.

Furniture can look great, but if you do not like sitting on it,
I have one question. WHY?
Pillows
can add color and comfort.
Instead of spending money on furniture, try a new color and/or
pattern for a new look.
Don't
fill the whole space.
Too much furniture in a room can do the opposite of what you want.
It keeps people out.
