Tools
to Keep Handy!
I have found
that there are a few tools that you need to keep handy. These
are the best kept in a drawyer in the kitchen. There are little
tool cases that are available for little to nothing that have
a nice case and everything that you need, and then some.
I found a
stash of my tools in the drawyer next tot the garage the other
day. I found my multi tool, screw drivers (phillips and flat),
needle nose pliers, box of the small percision screw divers, superglue,
and my duct tape. My duct tape! I gathered them up and put them
back in the tool box (where they belong)! Not even a hour later,
my wife was screaming at me asking what I had done with the tools.
I sniply said in my tool box, where they belong. That went over
like a ton of bricks.
She was right
it is much faster to keep some in the house within reach. Especially
for all those toys that need batteries. Here are a few that I
think are mandatory.
1. Screw driver
- I would have both phillips and flat and a couple sizes of each.
2. Needle
nose pliers - it is amazing how useful those things are. Especially
for fixing toys.
3. Small hammer
- A 13oz. hammer will take care of most small chores.
4. Small percision
screwdriver set - too many uses to even start naming them.
5. Various
tapes - scotch, masking, duct tapes are usually the best to keep
on hand.
6 Superglue
- This is amazing stuff. I have used it to glue the side mirror
back on the car, (don't tell my wife, she doesn't know) and you
could never tell it. I have also glued my fingers together, my
softball cleats back together, and too many toys to count (are
you detecting a theme here with the toys).
Just keep
some tools handy that you use regularly and the quick little fixes
will go much faster.
Just a few
thoughts as you look for ideas for you tool supply. There are
many more related articles in our garage
section. There is more specific information in the links at
the beginning of this article. They can guide you where you need
to go.
It's
all about the work bench.
If your work bench is not what you need, you will get nothing
done.
A
productive garage, is not a messy one.
There is nothing slowing progress down like a mess, or excessive
storage
Cars
and Tools can coexist
I have so many tools to keep my car in the garage. I have one
word. ORGANIZE!
