Good carpet is best

There is nothing like walking barefoot on great carpet.

This is an area where you do not want to scrimp, but you do not need to break the bank. I always tend to go a little over the middle of the road on carpet. There does not seem to be much difference between the most expensive and the upper middle quality. Or at least much of a difference when you are out of the show room. There is maybe a little more stain resistance or a little softer feel that you will only notice with the two 8 inch swatches side by side. I have never been disappointed with going that route with a decision on carpet.

I also usually chose a carpet that is a little darker than my original decision. So that it does not show traffic dirt as easily as a lighter choice, and it does not look as dingy as soon. You also need to consider if you have kids, pets and husbands.

There are many other options in style of carpet. Cut pile, Cut and loop pile, Berber, multi-level loop pile. Almost too many options. The cut pile probably has the best feel, but does not wear as well. The Level loop pile of berber will wear the best in traffic areas. If you go to any carpet store look at all the options, but do not buy there, you will pay through the nose. When you are ready to install, contact a trusted contractor and see what they can do for you.

Just a few thoughts as you are considering new flooring. There are many more flooring articles in our flooring section. There is more specific information in the links at the beginning of this article. They can guide you where you need to go.
