Clocks
Wall clocks can be stylish and add colour
and complement the decor of the room. Responding to changes
in the market preferences towards decorative, brighter,
vibrant decor companies have unveiled new style and collection
of clocks called retro clocks. These clocks are available
in handcrafted wood styles, metal, acrylic, silver. These
clocks are available in cartoon characters for children's
rooms, kitchen themes and so on. The retro clocks are
made to renovate the traditional clocks in new designs

Retro era:
Clocks are wall jewels and it gives
style to the room. If the style of the clock is a mixture
of past and the present with a mixture a distinction
of old fashion and contemporary style it is said to belong
to retro era. The clocks in the retro era during 1920's
were known as art deco style and in 1950's as 'diner'
or 'jukebox' style. Whereas in the early eighties it
retro clocks were known as minimalist style. Some clocks
and timepieces of the retro era feature ads or logos
in the clock face.
Retro Astro Wall clocks
In 1950's George Nelson designed brightly colored series
of clocks known as retro astro wall clocks. The Astro
clocks were designed to look like the molecular structure
of an atom. George Nelson designed this during the post
World War II. This astro design blends with any interior
decorum of the home and office alike. The retro astro
wall clocks are made of high-density plastics and the
quartz movement powered by batteries.
Double Bubble clocks:
In the 1950's and 1960's Advertising
Products Company of Cincinnati introduced the stylish
clocks called double bubble clocks. These clocks carried
graphics or logos on the clock face. They became so
popular, today; many collectors of 50's memorabilia
restrict their collection of clocks to Double Bubbles.
The dial moves over the inner glass bubble and has
either a logo or graphics and the outer "crystal "or
glass bubble has the numericals of the clock. These
globes are luminated with low voltage bulbs. Recently,
these clocks are being redone using thee original licensed
artwork from Wayne's clocks.
Midwest clocks:
Midwest is another producer of
retro clocks. Recently they have come out with a new
line of designs and accessories for the retro-look
market. Their popular styling and design series is "Someone's in the kitchen".
The clocks of these series are available in festive colors
that recall the family tradition and culture. The Cookie
Time, Cookie Jar is some of the collections of Midwest
clocks. They are designed on kitchen magnet or ceramic
