Good Nursery Flooring

and as they learn to take their first step, they are likely to fall too. The flooring of the nursery should be hospitable to the various activities of the baby. There are several options to choose from while planning the baby nursery flooring. Depending on ones choice the flooring can be wood, carpet or resilient surfaces.

Carpeting The Nursery Floor
There are merits and demerits to having carpeted floors in the baby nursery. The carpet flooring may seem to be soft and looking good. They create a comfortable and cushy play area as they will break the fall of the baby while it's trying to walk and is also soft to craw onl. However, it is difficult to remove the stains of spills and spits-ups. There is a high possibility of dust, dust mites and carpet fiber settling in the carpet. At times, the vacuums too cannot remove them. This can lead to allergies or asthma in the later stages. Nevertheless if one wishes to have the nursery floor carpeted, have a colorful carpet to appeal to the babies developing visual senses. Otherwise, go with a neutral color that complements with the nursery theme.

Resilient Flooring
Vinyl, linoleum, cork and rubber are the some of the resilient materials that can be used in the floor of the baby nursery. These make good choices for the nursery, as they are easy to clean and hard-wearing. They are also softer than wood and sound -absorbing materials. They are easy to install and available in sheets or tiles. To make the floor of the nursery colorful and appealing install vinyl flooring. They are available in a wide array of colors and patterns.

Wood flooring
Wood can be a great option for the baby nursery flooring. Wooden floorings are easy to clean and dust. They are long lasting and durable. The cons of the wooden flooring are the hardness, which can cause the baby to be hurt if it falls. The bare wood floors can be noisy. However, putting area rugs here and there can rectify that. One thing that is to be remembered is to keep the floor splinter and crack free.
It is upto the parents to decide on the flooring that would suit their baby's nursery.
