• Both the sides and ends of the fiber illuminators must be protected from UV rays, which degrades the fiber and seriously affects its longevity.

• It is not advisable to bend the fibers at hard right angles. One can bend it up to 8X of its diameter and not more then that.

• Distance of illumination should range from 263 feet only when the illuminator is bright and focused.

• The fiber must be placed in a direct path of the light beam in order to transmit the light effectively from the fiber.

Thus if all the above precautions are strictly followed then no doubt that fiber optic lighting system will definitely last longer.
