Proper
door seal can save lots of money.
Having
a properly installed door sealing will allow less cool air in
in the winter and less out in the summer.
Doors
are our way in and out of the house. They get used alot. And if
you have kids, Oh Boy! The seals around the door breaks down after
a while, allowing air to leak. This can cause more stress on your
HVAC and cost you more at the electric bill. Neither one is good.
The
best time to test it is in the colder months. Put your hand around
the seal of the door. If you feel cold air then there is a good
chance that your door seals are shot and need to be replaced.
Another way to check is to take a lit candle and follow it closely
(not too closely) to the door seal. The flame is extremely subject
to air movement, and will reveal instantly if there is an air
leak or not. If you see the flame flicker and change direction.
Then guess what!
Home
Improvements stores will have various kinds of seals that will
work with any kind of doors.
