Calking
is your friend...use it often
Caulk
is the cheapest and easiest way to give that finished look to
what every project you are working on.
Every
house is subject to climate change, because the climate is always
changing. Your house is made up of materials that are subject
to temperature and moisture changes. They contract and expand
with the changes, often leaving cracks and voids.
Calking
is the best, cheapest, and easiest way to, shall I say, disguise
those cracks. Just go to you local home improvements store and
you will be overwhelmed with all the options. Don't let all the
fancy packing get you. You do not need to spend a bunch of money.
Just make sure that you get calking that is flexible, and paintable.
I made the mistake of getting some of the more expensive stuff
and missed the little label that stated that it was not paintable.
Beautiful stuff, but when I went to paint over it. Houston we
have a problem! The paint would not stick. I wa filling in the
gaps of my miss calculation when I was doing the base boards.
It really looked nice when I got the correct caulking in place.
I looked like a professional, thanks to a little calt to cover
the cracks that I left behind.
If
there is a crack, just fill it with a little caulk. Wipe your
finger over it to give it a finished look and guess what no more
crack.
The
smartest place to fill the cracks is the bathroom, or anywhere
there is exposure to moisture. Bathrooms and kitchens are the
biggest culprit.
