A coating is given in order to prevent their bodies from rust and rot due to the affinity to steam. The coating generally comprises of liquid metalloids like silver, brass and aluminum. Although the fireplace steamer comes in different shapes, sizes, designs and colors their main function is the same that is to maintain an optimum level of moisture in the room. This is done by the vaporization of the water that is put inside the steamer by absorbing heat from a fire. Sometimes the steamers have to be provided with an additional fire-burning stove to provide with the heat. The steam generally comes out through an opening or a vent in the body surface of the steamer.
