Lead screw:
High quality lead screw assemblies meet your most demanding micro positioning
applications. Specify lead accuracies of 10 micro inches per turn and
25 micro inches per inch, the best in the industry. Lead screws, with
many built-in features, offer designers distinct advantages compared
to ball bearing screws and conventional lead screws.
Major features of lead screws:
1) Smoothness of operation
2) No noise
3) Absolute and repeatable positioning accuracy over a distance
4) Self-aligning nut eliminates side loading of linear bearings and prevents
nut binding or positioning error due to misalignment in lead screw installation.
5) Self-compensation for pitch diameter variation extends life expectancy
without performance degradation.
6) Minimum helical no linearity within a revolution (drunkenness). Important
for equal step size or constant velocity applications.
7) Anti-backlash nut design for bi-directional repeatability.
Lead screws are of three types:
1) Standard thread
2) Fine pitch thread
3) Inch threads lead screws.
Designs & dimensions of lead screw:
Lead screws are made of steel and feature synthetic or brass slide nuts.
Standard nuts are machined out of semi fabricates. For higher quantities
and eventually mould-injected plastic nuts. Speedy high-helix lead screws
are an ideal alternative to conventional hydraulic / pneumatic and mechanical
linear transmission solutions. The lead screws, which are available,
are rectangular or round nut, pitch diameter of 3/16"-5/8". Our lead
screw assemblies are high-helix fast lead, no self-locking or UNC/UNF
thread self-locking; or those with precision ball bearing or oil less
bronze bearing. We make ant backlash lead screws too. The lead screw
is used for thread cutting. It has accurately cut Acme threads along
its length that engage the threads of half-nuts in the apron when the
half-nuts are clamped over it. The spindle through a gear train drives
the lead screw. Therefore, the rotation of the lead screw bears a direct
relation to the rotation of the spindle. When the half-nuts are engaged,
the longitudinal movement of the carriage is controlled directly by the
spindle rotation. Consequently, the cutting tool is moved a definite
distance along the work for each revolution that the spindle makes.
Mountain screw gun:
Now it seems that the idea of a gun in two parts had its origin in Russia, having been proposed bin 1876 by Captain Kolokolzor, Director of a factory at Obuchow. In 1877 Colonel le Mesurier RA proposed an RML 7-pr (2.5-inch) steel gun made in two...
Right angle screwdrivers:
Every once in a while you have 3/4" of space to remove a screw. It's usually the bright idea of some inconsiderate designer. These are the nicest Right-Angle Screwdrivers I've come across. The blades are precision ground, the most important aspect...
