Ball screw:

This is due to the ball screw's high reliability precision and efficiency over more traditional power transmission components such as belt or chain drives, ball screws also offer a much higher life time and efficiency over acme / trapezoidal threads where long hours and frequent use are needed and high loads. The main reason behind a ball screw's efficiency is the ball bearings running on the cold rolled thread thus taking away the friction between the screw and nut which holds the balls and allows them to recirculate this then allows for a more predictable lifetime, provided that all the parameters have been taken into consideration. A ball screw is just that: a screw, which runs on balls. The screw and nut have matching helical grooves or races, and the ball bearings recirculate in these races. There is no physical contact between the screw and the nut. As the screw or nut rotates, and the rolling balls reach the trailing end of the nut, they are deflected or guided from this "pitch" contact by means of a return tube and returned to the leading end of the circuit. There, the cycle resumes and the balls recirculate continuously. The ball screw is a simple device for transmitting power mechanically. It is an efficient converter of rotary-to-linear or linear-to-rotary motion. It is a member of the family of power transmission screws. However, it possesses many more important sales and engineering advantages than conventional screws as well as other means of power transmission.

Benefits of ball screw:
Typical points that are normally associated with these life calculations are load speed at which load is to be moved over a certain distance. What type of bearings / configurations are used. Due to the nature of ball screws consideration must be given to speed and length of screws to avoid what we call buckling or whipping. Carry screws are manufactured by the highly economical cold-rolling process, which offers significant cost savings but also maintains a precision quality normally associated with ground ball screws, which traditionally are very expensive.

1) Eliminates the need for costly thread grinding.
2) Advantages are high efficiency 90%
3) Low power input
4) Low self heating
5) Low frictional, stick slip free running
6) Maximum wear resistance i.e. very good repetition accuracy with a constant positioning precision
7) Very high reliability and durability
8) All our ball screws use Kluber lubrication
