Appliances
Kitchen is that part of the household where the woman of a family
spends a major part of the day. Modern kitchens are seen well
equipped with some of the most quality appliances which have made
the cooking work a very easy affair. Today there is an appliance
for performing each and every major or minor cooking action. Right
from chopping the vegetables, mixing and grinding spices to the
final washing of the dishes there is a particular appliance for
everything. In short it can be said that the modern cooking is
a group effort of all the kitchen appliances. Almost 70% of the
urban women today are working professionals and hence can’t
waste time cooking in the kitchen. Thus the modern kitchen appliances
have saved the time of these women’s to a great extent and
given them a chance to grow professionally as well as financially.
Some basic kitchen appliances
A kitchen is considered to be the most interactive part of the
house. The cook combined with every part of the kitchen such as
work surface, appliances, tools etc together work for several
hours a day to produce delicious and nutritious meals. For better
working atmosphere and good results the kitchen should have the
appropriate placement and design of the appliances. Some of the
basic appliances used in a modern kitchen are described as under:
The dishwasher – With push of a button
if the used dishes and other utensils gets washed then no one
will hesitate spending those few bugs and purchasing it. A 34”
inch heighted machine the dishwasher fits under a 36” high
counter which is considered as the standard size.
The stove – The modern burners and ovens
are considered as a vital element of the kitchen without which
the cooking can’t be accomplished successfully. Today burners
and ovens come equipped with front side knobs and push buttons;
hence the user doesn’t need to reach across the hot burners.
Refrigerators – The cooling place of the kitchen
where one can preserve many types of food items for a considerable
amount of time. The freezer present in a refrigerator is an instant
ice making device which maintains a temperature below 0’
Celsius. The refrigerator is becoming a need of every modern household
today.
Microwaves – This is a device which works on the
principle of passing of micro waves over the food item. Microwave
ovens have enabled great cooking flexibility and are a very safer
and cheaper way of cooking.
In this way along with the few mentioned above there are lots
of other small and big kitchen appliances without which a present
day woman can’t even think of entering the kitchen.
