to find out which part of your home or office correlates with a particular
situation in your life. Once you have an in-depth understanding of the
bagua it will be easy for you to evaluate and adjust your environment
for better health and productivity, thus improving your life.
The Bagua Diagram
Bagua is a colorful octagon, divided in nine areas, or "guas". The eight
sides and the center portion form the nine guas, which correspond to
nine major areas of life - prosperity, fame and reputation, relationships,
family, heath, creativity and children, skills and knowledge, career,
and helpful people.
The Guas
The central area signifies health. Good health comes under the earth
element and yellow is considered to be an auspicious color for better
health. The fame and reputation Gua signifies the fire elements. According
to Feng Shui red color is good for creating fame and reputation. The
pink side of the bagua represents relationship / love and marriage. The
purple color on the bagua indicates prosperity and abundance. The green
side on the map stands for the wood element, which represents family
and foundation. Skills and knowledge are represented by the blue color.
Where as the silver/gray color indicates helpful people. The water element
signifies career and life path, which is indicated by the black color.
On the other hand white signifies metal element, which stands for creativity
and children.
How to use the Bagua
To over lay bagua on you house or work floor plan, stand at the entrance
of the door facing in. Then hold the map in such a way that blue, black
and gray guas are towards you. Try to draw a straight line across the
front of the home where the door is. This would be the line at the bottom
of the chart. Thus know you can easily locate the different guas in your
house.
Bagua is very useful when planning to buy a new house and if you want
to buy it according to the Feng Shui, or even while renovating the house.
However only an expert can give the best readings. But incase you want
