It is generally believed that colors affect the mentality and everyday
life of the people. This would mean that each color that is used on the
floors, ceilings, and walls of every room in the house affects the way
of life and relationships of the people staying in the house. It is widely
accepted that colors feng shui picks for enhancing the positive energy
are known for their specific qualities.
Colors feng shui recommends
Feng shui colors are basically divided into warm cool and neutral colors
that are to be used in the different living areas of the house or the
office. Warm colors that feng shui recommends are yellows, oranges, reds,
and pinks. Neutral colors include pure white, brown, and black. Cool
colors are greens, blues and purples.
Use of warm, cool and neutral colors
Warm colors are used in areas such as the kitchen, the dining room and
the living room. Cool colors are used in bedrooms, bathrooms and in meditation
and therapy rooms. Neutral colors are used mostly in halls and entrances
and can be used almost anywhere as they are easy on the eye. All these
colors are said to have positive effects on the well being of the members
in the house. However excess use of these colors can also produce negative
effects.
Feng shui colors associated with directions
Each of the eight directions has specific colors associated with them.
For instance, the color red is best associated with the south while white
and gold are colors that are beneficial for the west and the northwest
directions. Green is absolutely suitable for the east and the southeast
directions.
Importance of colors in feng shui
Use of colors that are compatible to the flow of positive energy in the
interior décor of the home or office results in a good and healthy
living for all members in the family or the employees in the office.
Most feng shui experts believe that the choice of colors must be done
according to the principles of color use in each particular area of the
living space.
