Evaporative Coolers for Keeping Home Cool

Introduction:

Evaporative coolers, also called as swamp coolers, are one of the very effective n reliable sources of cooling. An evaporative cooler produces cooling effect by combining a natural process of water evaporation with simple air moving system. Technically working, these evaporative coolers pull the fresh air in through moist pads and this pulled up air gets cool by evaporation and gets circulated in the room by a fan. The most significant quality of these air coolers is that they work in a humid atmosphere also unlike electronic Air Conditioners (AC's). Moreover Evaporative Coolers have got more advantages over AC's. Evaporative Coolers require four times less electric energy as in AC's and also they are less expensive to install and maintain. Also evaporative coolers don't emit hazardous refrigerants like AC's.

Evolution and Method of using:

Evaporative Cooling is one of the most ancient methods of cooling home. From 1992-94 a research was conducted by University of Arizona's office of Arid Land Studies. The research plan was designed to monitor 46 such coolers in Phoenix in the summer of 1993 and 23 such coolers in 1994 at the places of volunteers, as a check against variations in temperatures and rainfall through two systems, one of which was the bleed-off system and the other dual cooling system. And the result of the research was that only one volunteer withdrew.

Effectivity & efficiency:

With evaporative air-cooling, a complete air change occurs every one to three minutes. It also offers a great health advantage over the Hi-tech Air Conditioners (AC's). Evaporative coolers are also very efficient in using; it can be used as a general household commodity without any risks.

Acceptance:

The evaporative coolers are widely accepted in the present world because of the highly effective and low cost of using, maintenance and installation. Also these coolers are not hazardous to the environment, which makes them a preferential choice by the people. Moreover being efficient in any type of atmosphere makes them more acceptable in 'Rem'.

Conclusion:

With the above-mentioned advantages and effectivity of the evaporative coolers, they are becoming more popular. The low cost and efficiency at output makes evaporative coolers more at demand. After one time installation, the low cost maintenance thereof is highly appreciable in this method of cooling homes.
