How to make a slipcover for an ottoman:
Instead of buying completely a new ottoman it is better to sew or buy a slipcover ottoman and give a new look to it. A slipcover for an ottoman can be sewed at home. It is very simple to sew.
The old slipcovers can be taken as templates. The measurements should be taken according to it and extra for seams. The four side panels and top should be cut out. Cushion depth should be measured to know the bandwidth. The side panels should be stitched together. This forms a tube. All the sides should be left open ‡ inch. This helps in sewing top portion. The other sides should be folded in half and pin them down flat. Along the edge of the fold it should be stitched. This creates a seam that is twice as sturdy. Now the sides should be turned inside out and pin the top to all four sides. At last the bottom hem should be folded and ironed then it should be stitched.
