Use of fertilizers according to the season:

An overview on the use of fertilizers:

Chemical fertilizers are an integral and inherent part of modern agriculture and even gardening. Fertilizers provide the plants with manures that results in the lush growth of the plants faster growth of the fruits and flowers. However inappropriate and over application of fertilizers may also contribute to pollution. Hence it is extremely important to apply nutrient at the right time and correctly so that they can does not move through the soil by leaching and erode along with the surface of the soil or wash into the storm drains in heavy rains polluting the groundwater, streams, lakes and ultimately the sea water.

Present scenario of fertilizers use:

These days there are different types of fertilizers and manures that are available in the market. Most of them are either chemical or organic sources and may be purchased in many different formulations. Then there are also the composts and manures that can be prepared at home and can be used as potential fertilizers and soil amendments. Generally the organic fertilizers contain small amounts of nutrients that are released over the soil over an extended period of time as compared to the chemical fertilizers.

Seasonal use of fertilizers:

Seasonal usage of fertilizers is very much appropriate and wise. Seasonal fertilizing especially in the falls will strengthen the plants and the lawns roots that will give them a strong base on which they will thrive on the next spring. Prior to the application of fertilizers it is also very much essential to know a little about the composition formula that is represented by three numbers. This is important so as to know about how much food is being given to the plants so that they should neither suffer from mal or over nutrition. Most of the chemical fertilizers have three-composition number that represents the presence of the major chemical components like nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. Nitrogen is an essential component that supports the growth of lawn blades and other foliage. Phosphorus promotes the growing of the roots and potassium is helpful for the cell functioningís of the plants and the absorption of the trace elements within the plants body.
