Barbecue

Barbecue is a technique or an apparatus for cooking food. Mostly meat is subjected to this type of treatment. The meat is subjected to hot gases of fire or hot coals of charcoal and vinegar based or tomato-based sauce is applied.

History of Barbecue

It started in the southern part of the United States. Initially it revolved around cooking of pork. As pork was a low maintenance food. During the 19th century it was an essential part of the southern American culture and this technique was used during the grand feasts.

Electric Barbecue grills

Electric barbecue grills are generally being used indoors. This is due to the prohibition on the usage of open flame, which can damage interiors of the house. Electric barbecue produces radiant heat. In this apparatus electrical elements are being placed over infrared reflector or volcanic rock briquettes are placed over electrical elements. As the power is switched on it starts producing radiant heat, which eventually work as the heating device. This heating device is being controlled thermostatically. A hood for protection covers the heating unit and the device also includes weather resistant finishes and for the purpose of safety, waterproof electrical connections are being used. The unit is either 120v or 240v. Open units i.e. without a hood can also be used for the indoor as long as a drip pan is attached to the unit for the hot grease. Heavy gauge, caste aluminum cover are used to provide optimal heat condition for fast searing and it keeps the natural juices intact.

Electric barbecue grills are a very portable thing and thus can be fitted indoors where the space is less. It can even be used during the rain. The surface is non-sticky and easy clean. There is a drip plate, which collects the excess fat dripping out, thus we could get rid of the smoky cloud.

It can be placed right from the kitchen slab to the dinning table. As it is a very handy equipment. Generally for the purpose of party it can even be placed in the open air.
