Flooring saws:

Introduction:

Flooring saws are saws that are primarily used for cutting and lifting floorboards. Therefore such saws have immense importance in all flooring operations.

Flooring saws design and use:

Flooring saws are designed in a way that enables them to saw perfectly through any kind of flooring wood. The edge or the teeth of such saws are curved that help them to make a cut across the board mostly in the centre of the joist. The saws are narrow that enable them to enter the work material. Flooring saws can come in different varieties and countless facilities. Some saws are portable while others run on motor. Special flooring saws are also sometimes equipped with dust collector facilities that enable the workers to collect extra sawdust keeping its interference in work minimum. Circular saws are also popularly used as flooring saws. Saws are commonly required for cutting the wood, shaping it for a perfect floor fitting. They are also used for lifting purposes. Many kinds of handsaws and power saws can work effectively as flooring saws. Many companies also launch specially designed flooring saws. They have teeth that are designed to cut the wood without causing damage. The type of saw used while flooring also depends on the wood thickness. Sheets ranging from 3 to 6 mm can be effectively sawed with a tenon saw, while sheets that are 6 to 12 mm thick can benefit from fine tooth panel saw. Thicker sheets require different types of saws like coarse panel saws.

Safety and maintenance:

Safety precautions like use of protective clothing and protective goggles need to be used during all operations of sawing. Since the teeth of such saws are very sharp, extreme precautions should be taken during work to avoid injury. In case of injury, medical treatment should be taken immediately. Since saws are valuable assets in all flooring operations, they need to be taken care of. They can be stored in places that are free from excess moisture and other environment forces that can cause rusting. Flooring saws also require to be sharpened from time to time. Dull teeth can cut uneven floorboards and damage the wood in the process.

Since flooring work cannot progress without a good saw, flooring saw is one of the essentials of any handyman's tool kit.
