To test the supply of current, an individual only needs to touch the point of the tester to the fuse. Another end of the tester has a small light bulb. If the fuse is working properly, the tester immediately gets illuminated. If there is no current, the tester would not light. The tester is used for a large number of purposes. It includes, short circuit tests, radiation testing, emission tests and for tracking busted cables. The continuity tester is a basic tool when it comes to repairing or checking domestic appliances like lamps, televisions, microwaves and such other home equipments. Usually, the tester works of batteries that are either alkaline or silver. There are testers available that also have an audible output. Hence, the individual can concentrate on the electrical work without having to check each time whether the tester is illuminated or not. Also, another important factor is that the time of response is extremely short. This allows the individual to carry out several other tests along with listening to the audio output. A very significant use of the tester is for testing computers. With the tester it is easy to find out if there is a problem of short circuit between the lands and the cracks in the tracks.
