In our day-to-day life we use a lot of resources some of them that are depleting fast. So we should now look into certain other alternative resources that will fulfill our requirements. Compost is one such resource. Compost is basically the aerobically decomposed remnants of organic materials of plants and animal origin.

USES OF COMPOST

Compost can be used for many purposes and now it has proved to be the best alternative for many other resources. Some of its uses are: -
* Compost is widely used for the agricultural purposes. It is one of the best alternatives for the chemical fertilizers. Also compost increases the fertility of the soil and also increases the water-retaining capacity of the soil. The organic elements present in it are very useful for the purposes of agriculture.
* Compost is also used for erosion control. It helps in the reduction of topsoil. Spreading a layer of compost over a distributed area of soil can do it. Compost berms and filter socks are either used alone or are used in conjunction with compost blankets to mitigate the impact of high-volume water discharges and flow.
* Compost can also be mixed with sand, clay, aged sawdust, and other materials to create an enriched mix for the landscapes. So compost can be used in landscaping, gardening and also weed control.
* Compost can also be used in Turf and Pasture management.
* Compost is also used as a fuel. With this advancement now many of the depleting sources of fuel such as Coal, Petroleum etc. can be given a break. As compost is a bio-fuel it can be easily prepared in the household also by following simple guidelines. Also there is no or very less chance of it being over. So as a fuel Compost has proved to be an excellent alternative.
* Compost is also used for certain special purposes such as Landfill cover, for constructing wetlands and Stream bank restoration.

CONCLUSION

So in this fast moving world and highly advanced world where the resources are being used more than what it should be, a resource and also an alternative fuel like Compost will of very great help. Also as Compost is dry in nature so it is very easy to apply just as a power.
