The door is manufactured from two casings of thick steel. It is durable, rust free material, which provides an excellent surface for painting forming a thick leaf. Two full height vertical interlocking joint is formed creating a very rigid box. Horizontal channels within the sheet are spot welded to the inner and outer casings. The empty space between the casings is filled with a honeycomb core material, which is bonded to both inside faces of the steel sheets. The honeycomb has great firmness load performance. Topping channels are fitted to the top and bottom of the casing. The reinforcing and capping channels combine to create a very rigid sheet edge. Reinforcing plates are fitted within the sheet empty space to suit ironmongery options. Heavy-duty hinge plates are welded to the internal hinge sheet edge for further reinforcement. A mortise lock enclosure is formed which stops any infill materials affecting the moving parts of the lock.

Specifications of the doorframe

Doorframe is constructed from thick-coated steel, with a double rebate profile. Headpieces are connected to the jambs with tab and slot locators along with a vertical hit joint. The jambs are toughened for all hardware supplied. The frame is fixed to the surrounding structure using the appropriate fixing. Tolerance between frame and structures is taken up with the unique threaded adjusters.

After the door is fastened to the doorframe it is finished with gray primer.
