A ceiling fan is an electrical machine that is suspended from the ceiling of a room. They create a cool breeze in the room. The warm or hot air is forced out and the cold air is drawn inside the room. Basically a fan moves air from one place to another. They are used in almost all the places. They are used at home, offices, and many other formal and non-formal places. They can be used both in summer and winter seasons. They have the capacity to bring down the temperature by five to seven degrees. They can also raise the room temperature in the winter season. Ceiling fans are inexpensive so anybody can afford them.

A ceiling fan mainly has three parts. They are an electric motor, blades, a mounting system, such as a flush mount motor housing, a down rod, and a canopy mount. The other parts are filter and hub. They have a series of controls. The decorative fans usually have filters beneath the blades that hold lamps and glass or crystal shades. Some of the ceiling fans have remote control mounted on a wall or a hand held remote. The blades of the fan are usually made of metals. The size of the motor depends on the blade pitch. The traditional fans used to have two or three blades. But the new ceiling fans have four to five blades. The remote controls of the fans are used to control the speed of the fan.
